Email marketing is a great way to get your company name on customer’s desktops. An “opt-in” strategy is required to ethically develop your list. Creating and growing this list takes a significant amount of time and effort. By all counts, the payoff exceeds the effort . . . with time.
Every time you send a marketing newsletter it puts your company name and contact information in people’s mailboxes. The more they see your name, the more they think about your business. From the email it just takes a “click” to quickly access your special pricing, white paper, product list – whatever you happen to be promoting at the time.
Email management software that allow bulk marketing, and avoid common pitfalls, are plentiful. All emails need a simple “unsubscribe” button for immediate removal. The app should track those unsubscribing and insure they are not added back into the list unintentionally. Stats are collected showing how many emails were opened, who clicked on what links, who unsubscribed, etc. All very helpful for planning and directing your marketing campaign.
There are many other rules to prevent your emails from getting blackballed. For instance, if you send 200 emails to Yahoo in five minutes, there is a good chance you will be blackballed and your emails will be bounced back.
